Heavy Metal Jigsaw Puzzles: Now a Thing

It goes without saying that few things on earth will make the heart race like a good jigsaw puzzle. It doesn’t even matter what the completed image ends up being. There’s just something about sitting down for several hours and reassembling a picture someone else has cut up into weird shapes that gets the adrenaline going.

Which makes me wonder if Rock Saw, the new line of jigsaw puzzles created from famous metal album covers, presents a health risk to the general public. Can you imagine getting done with a jigsaw puzzle and seeing something as awesome as a vintage Priest or Slayer album cover staring back at you? That would be snorting cocaine at the end of a marathon!

Still, more adventurous metalheads — the kind that buy Iron Maiden tickets without checking to make sure they’re not just playing their new album in its entirety first — may want to check out some of Rock Saw’s offerings, which includes puzzles based on album covers not just by the aforementioned Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Slayer, but also Motörhead, too. It seems like a wasted opportunity not to include Carcass’ Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, since it even includes a song called “Corporal Jigsore Quandary,” but I understand there’s a myriad of reasons why these decisions are made.

The puzzles cost £17.50 each (roughly $23), which ain’t too bad. You can pre-order ’em here. Images of all of their current offerings are below.
