Hate Debut Video for Exhilarating New Single, “Sovereign Sanctity”

I have to thank Apple Music for throwing tons of new music my way over the years, and Hate are one of those bands I discovered thanks to a new music playlist. You might want to throw a shoe at me for saying it, but upon listening to them for the first time a couple of years back I couldn’t help but think they sounded like a slightly less mainstream Behemoth, down to Nergal’s vocals. Don’t get me wrong, I ate that shit up regardless. But today, my friends, Hate have blown me out of the water with the release of their new single, “Sovereign Sanctity,” taken from their upcoming album entitled Auric Gates of Veles.

“Sovereign Sanctity” demands attention from start to finish by creating a tenebrous atmosphere through intense tremolo-picking and exhilarating blast beats that peak in a riotous cacophony, taking the song through darker moments in anthemic waves. Hate’s frontman Adam the First Sinner states: “We wanted the songs to sound like anthems, and ‘Sovereign Sanctity’ is a perfect example of such a song. I think it’s also one of the best we have written in years.” I’m inclined to agree, Mr. First Sinner.

Auric Gates of Veles is set for release on June 14th and can be pre-ordered here along with a bunch of other merch goodies. You can catch Hate on the Devastation on the Nation tour alongside Belphegor, Dark Funeral, and Incantation, which kicks off this week. Dates are posted below the embed.
