Suicide Silence Announce Rare Ass Sh*t Rarities Release

It’s now been more than two years since Suicide Silence released their controversial self-titled album, critically acclaimed by a few but wholly rejected by many of the band’s longtime fans. The band backtracked pretty much immediately, saying in the press their next album will be heavier and shortly thereafter embarking on a 10th anniversary tour of their landmark debut The Cleansing. While guitarist Mark Heylmun remains on a “radical sabbatical,” Darkest Hour guitarist and Heylmun doppelganger Mike “Lonestar” Carrigan has been filling in.

What will the future bring for Suicide Silence? Something very heavy, I would guess — they need to be in redemption mode, bigtime, after suffering a huge sales drop — but for now the band will again board the nostalgia train with a rarities release featuring the tracks from their 2005 EP and some pre-production demos from The Cleansing. The set will be release digitally on June 14th (no word on a physical release) and features the following tracklist:

– “Ending Is The Beginning”
– “Swarm”
– “About A Plane Crash”
– “Distorted Thought Of Addiction”
– “Destruction Of A Statue” (live)
– “No Pity For A Coward” (pre-production demo)
– “A Dead Current” (pre-production demo)
– “Girl Of Glass” (pre-production demo)
– “Unanswered” (pre-production demo)
– “The Price Of Beauty” (pre-production demo)
– “Green Monster” (pre-production demo)
