Ghost Release Unsettling New Video for “Faith”

0

Ghost have just released a new video for the Prequelle track “Faith,” which a press release tells us just grabbed the #10 spot on the active rock radio charts. If the single continues its upward rise and hits #1, it’ll be the third track from the album to do so following “Rats” and “Dance Macabre,” the former of which remained there for a “record-setting” eight weeks in a row. Not bad for a band who only a few years ago were still playing small clubs! Just goes to show that traditional radio can still be a massive driver of success for a band.

The new video features the song’s lyrics laid over footage of early brain surgery procedures, with surgeons using crude tools and brute force methods to get inside their patients’ domes. It’s creepy, but also fun to watch… old medical shit is always cool, ya know? I’m not sure what that imagery has to do with the song’s lyrics — I still can’t even figure out what the song is about — but it makes for nice visual candy either way. Check it out below.

Ghost are on tour in Europe right now with Metallica. They’ll come back to North America to play Heavy Montreal at the end of July, then they’ll have a couple weeks off before heading back out with Metallica to finish off that run. In September they’ll begin their first U.S. arena tour, this one hitting mostly smaller markets.
