Given the overwhelmingly positive response to last month’s rollout of Shock Narcotic — the band featuring vocalist Shawn Knight (Child Bite), guitarist Jeff Tuttle (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan), drummer Zach Gibson (Shit Life, ex-The Black Dahlia Murder), and Don Slater (Battlecross) — I imagine you’ll all be stoked to learn that the band has now debuted another new song. It’s called “Erratic Smearing Vitals,” and it is every bit as discombobulating as trying to figure out what that title means. And after you read Knight’s statement re: the song’s subject matter, you’ll understand why!

“This one is about having the worst psychedelic trip of your life, the kind where your mind goes down a rabbit hole of ever-increasing hyper-awareness and you feel like you’re in a never-ending nightmare. The kind of trip that has you absolutely convinced that you’re dying, but in the most spectacular, incomprehensible way possible.”

Yup. “Incomprehensible” is the key word here!

Kidding aside, the song absolutely rips, and you should definitely check it out. You can do so at Decibel. Shock Narcotic’s debut full-length, I Have Seen the Future and It Doesn’t Work, comes out on August 16. You can pre-order it here.
