Sacred Reich’s “Manifest Reality” Video Contorts All Over Your Stupid Ugly Face

If you grew up watching MTV in the ’90s, then Mark Pellington made a big impact on your life whether you realize it or not. Pellington directed a staggering amount of that decade’s most iconic music videos, including the clips for Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy,” U2’s “One,” R.E.M.’s “Drive,” and “Rooster” by Alice in Chains.

So you probably would not expect to hear that Pellington also helmed the new Sacred Reich video. After all, his most recent work includes stuff for Imagine Dragons and Demi Lovato.

But Pellington and Sacred Reich actually go way back! “Manifest Reality,” their latest collaboration, is the third video they’ve made together since 1993 (the others being “Independent” and “Low”). It’s also the best video they’ve made together, and possibly the best video you’ll see this week, if this not this month. It stars a bunch of creepy-ass dancers, at least one of whom is a creepy-ass contortionist doing creepy-ass shit, kinda like Tool’s video for “Schism” if Tool’s video for “Schism” was creepy-assed.

Speaking of asses, the song will also rip you a new one. But you probably guessed that. This is, after all, Sacred Reich.

Check out the “Manifest Reality” video below. The song will appear on the band’s new album, Awakening, which reunites the band with drummer Dave McClain. It comes out August 23rd via Metal Blade Records; pre-order it here. The band kicks off a tour with GWAR on September 12; get dates here.
