Slipkids: Watch Children Cover Slipknot’s “The Devil in I”

Man, the O’Keefe Music Foundation is really moving up in the world! The students of Aaron O’Keefe routinely cover metal songs (they’ve done tracks by Tool, Pantera, Danzig, and Clutch, among others), sure, but I remember a time when the accompanying music videos were your standard meat n’ potatoes people-standing-around-playing clips. Now they’ve released a cover of Slipknot’s “The Devil in I,” and it has a storyline, extras, destruction of property, and other complexities usually reserved for “professional” music videos.

Good for them! This young ‘uns have always been a talented lot, and it’s always nice to know that metal will have a future if climate change doesn’t kill us all.

You can watch the clip below. If it seems more reminiscent of Slipknot’s “Duality” video than their “The Devil in I” video, that may be because it’s something of a de facto sequel to the moppets’ cover of the former song, which they released in 2016.
