David Silveria: “I Have Apologized to All Members of Korn”
Ex-Korn drummer David Silveria says he has apologized to all of his former bandmates for negative comments he’s made about them since parting ways.
Silveria is currently in the midst of yet another lawsuit with the band. In 2013, he called bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu “a cowardly little bitch” and a “judgmental self righteous idiot,” and said that vocalist Jonathan Davis’ “balls were gone because his wife put them in a jar.” In 2015, he called the music Korn have made without him “shit.”
Now Silveria has taken to social media to share a (very, very poorly) Photoshopped Blabbermouth headline positing that fans desperately want him back in Korn. A fan in the comments section then proceeded to remind Silveria of his past insults, and to assert that “The reason [guitarist Brian “Head” Welch] is back is none other than love, and love can’t be forced into people.
Silveria, subsequently, offered this reply, in which he claims both that he has already expressed remorse about his past comments, and that Head said plenty of bad things about the band during his time away:
“[N]ormally wouldn’t even answer this. But to say. I have apologized to all members of korn. I was immature, hurt and mad that after head they wouldn’t let me back in. Specifically because the year before head came back I personally talked to head and tried to get him to along with me talk to the guys about both of us going back to korn.
“At that time head said ‘David, you and I are good friends. But don’t call me if you are only going to try to get me to go back to korn. I will never go back.’ Then less than a year later he goes back to korn. On our phone call he said very negative things about korn which I won’t repeat.
“The things I said were wrong and mean. I haven’t said anything negative about korn in years now. I have the upmost respect for the guys and an appreciation for every one of those guys. The end”
