Hear Mastodon’s Troy Sanders Play Bass with Thin Lizzy

0

Back in April, we reported that Mastodon’s Troy Sanders would be joining Thin Lizzy’s live lineup on bass for a string of European festival dates, replacing previous bassist Tom Hamilton. An unexpected choice by the classic group, but an exciting one nonetheless!

Well, now you can hear what Troy sounded like with your very own ears! Footage from the band’s August 10 performance will give you an idea of the latest iteration of “Thin Lizzy,” which also features Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis with current ‘Liz members Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson, and of course longtime guitarist Scott Gorham and keyboard player Darren Wharton.

Here’s what Sanders had to say about his involvement with the band:

“It’s no secret that Thin Lizzy has had a big influence on Mastodon’s music. Being asked to join them on stage is a big deal and true honor to me. I am really looking forward to it!”
