Metallica played the first of two special S&M² anniversary shows at the new Chase Center in San Francisco last night (September 6), and the set list has found its way online, natch. That set list was as follows:

2. The Call of Ktulu
3. For Whom the Bell Tolls
4. The Day That Never Comes
5. The Memory Remains
6. Confusion
7. Moth Into Flame
8. The Outlaw Torn
9. No Leaf Clover
10. Halo on Fire
Set II
11. Scythian Suite, Op.20 , Second Movement (Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev cover) (performed by the San Francisco Symphony)

20. Enter Sandman (with ‘The Frayed Ends of Sanity’ outro)

MetalSucks cannot express enough how sad we are to see there was no orchestral version of “Invisible Kid” or “Frantic.” Bummer.

Maybe they’ll play it on night two, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, September 8 at the same venue.

The band will be screening a film of the event in 3,000 movie theaters worldwide on October 9.
