Tool’s Fear Inoculum Charts at #1 in U.S., Australia, Norway, New Zealand and Belgium
Tool’s new album, Fear Inoculum, made a huge splash in the U.S. in its first week of release, shifting 270,000 units (252k real album sales) without the benefit of D2C sales (“direct to consumer,” i.e. via the band’s website) or live ticket bundling. Tool’s big numbers also made for some entertaining fodder from fans of Taylor Swift, whose new album was bumped down to #2 after its own #1 debut the week prior.
But the success of Fear Inoculum wasn’t isolated to the U.S., with the album posting impressive numbers all over the world. Tool’s first album in 13 years landed at #1 in Australia, Norway, New Zealand, and Belgium, and placed in the Top 5 in the U.K., Germany, The Netherlands, Ireland, Italy and Finland in its first week of release. To say fans came out in full force after the long wait would be an understatement.
