Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Issues an Update on His Health

0

As you are no doubt aware, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer over the summer. Although Mustaine’s prognosis for recovery was always good, the band was still left (understandably) with no choice but to cancel all of their remaining 2019 tour dates save for the multi-day Megacruise boat expedition (although they have also managed to continue work on their new album).

With that event now less than a month away, Mustaine has offered fans this update on his cancer treatment… fortunately, it’s good news:

“I wanted to take a moment to give you all an update on the current status of my health. I’m almost through the last round of treatment and my doctors are feeling very positive regarding my progress. I want to thank all of you for the support and well wishes these last few months. I can’t express enough gratitude as it has made this hard road easier knowing you are in my corner fighting with me!

“Over the next few weeks my condition will be evaluated, and I will keep you posted on my progress as we get closer to the sailing date of the first Megacruise! We can’t wait to see you, and I know all of the other wonderful artists feel the same way. Let’s make this event one for the record books. Less than 30 days till we are Thrashing through the Pacific!

“See you all very soon.

“Dave”

The Megacruise will run from October 13 through 18 of 2019, stopping at Los Angeles, San Diego, and Ensenada, Mexico. Bands scheduled to perform include Anthrax, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Death Angel, and more. It looks like cabins are still available! Book your trip here.
