Track Premiere: Firebreather, “Our Souls, They Burn”

Metal fans of a certain vintage will no doubt appreciate the following classic Simpsons moment when the phrase “they burn” is uttered:

No? Anyone?

For Swedish stoner/doom trio Firebreather, it’s souls they’re most concerned with burning, specifically their own. We’ve all been there, and thankfully Firebreather do a bang-up job capturing what it feels like for one’s inner being to be lit afire on “Our Souls, They Burn,” through the use of scorching hot riffs, stomach-churning bellows, lightning-fried drums and intestine-rattling bass. The souls of all MetalSucks staffers have been incinerated through one mere listen of this track, and it’s only through stray electrical impulses that this post is being written, like how a chicken runs around for a while after its head has been cut off.

Listen to “Our Souls, They Burn” below. Under a Blood Moon comes out on September 27 via RidingEasy Records; pre-order here. The band has a European tour lined up for October with Monolord; dates underneath the embed.
