Dragonforce Say Farewell to Bassist Frédéric Leclercq in Video for “Razorblade Meltdown”

Dragonforce have released one more song from their new album, Extreme Power Metal, before that albums drops this Friday. There isn’t much I can tell you about the track, “Razorblade Meltdown,” that you won’t already know if you’ve ever heard Dragonforce before… or noted the album’s title… or used poppers on a roller coaster.

I can tell you that the music video (below), which is by turns exceedingly cute and horrifyingly violent, went into production before bassist Frédéric Leclercq left to join Kreator — ’cause he’s pretty clearly in it. As far as abrupt send-offs go, this clip strikes me as a pretty good one.

Leclercq has since been replaced by YouTube star Stevie T., who will join the band for their upcoming tour, which kicks off October 1. Get tickets here. His last recording with Dragonforce, Extreme Power Metal, comes out September 27 on Metal Blade. Pre-order it here. Meanwhile, you can see Leclercq with Kreator when they co-headline a tour of the UK and Europe with Lamb of God starting in March. Get tickets here.
