If you’ve seen Russian Circles live before, you know what you’re gonna get each time you go back for more. That consistency was both a strength and a weakness as reported by MetalSucks contributing photographer Simmons Tobias, who attended the band’s show at San Francisco’s August Hall on September 19, 2019. On one hand, the band sounded phenomenal, as always, taking the audience on a wild ride through the peaks and valleys of their emotional, cinematic instrumental metal. On the other, Tobias told us he wished the band had brought more of a light show to bring their performance to the next level.
