Lamb of God’s Sacrament Certified Gold

A big MetalSucks mazel tov goes out to Lamb of God this morning. According to Lambofgoat, the band’s 2006 release, Sacrament, “was officially certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) on September 27 in recognition of sales in excess of half a million copies in the United States.”

It’s the band’s second gold record, after 2004’s Ashes of the Wake. And yes, in case you’re wondering, those two albums are the band’s highest-selling releases to date… which makes perfect sense, since they were the one-two punch that really elevated the band from metal’s underground to its A-list.

Funny enough, Sacrament was semi-controversial amongst LoG fans when it came out, with some alleging that the record sounded too polished. History has thus far not been on the naysayers’ side, though.
