Exclusive Cinemetal Premiere: Labirinto’s “Eleh Ha Devarim”

0

If you haven’t spent a decent amount of your 2019 listening to Labirinto‘s Divino Afflante Spiritu (Pelagic Records), you’ve been doing it wrong. The third full-length album from the instrumental sextet combine evocative atmospherics with shamanistic heavy rock to make something truly special. Imagine This Will Destroy You channeling Pelican and you’ll have some idea of what the album has in store for you.

Unfortunately, the São Paulo band toured Europe earlier this year, but they haven’t made it to North America since 2012, which means many of us who so love Divino Afflante Spiritu haven’t gotten to see the band play live yet. But now, at least, we have the next best thing: a video for the track “Eleh Ha Devarim,” filmed during a show in the band’s hometown earlier this year. It actually made us even more envious of those who have gotten to see Labirinto live.

Says the band of the video:

“Our new music video, ‘Eleh Ha Devarim’ (in Hebrew, ‘These are the words’) has just been released by Pelagic Records (Germany) and Dissenso Records (Brazil). It was filmed during Labirinto’s last concert at Centro Cultural São Paulo on May 11th, 2019.

“More than a music video, this is a token of thanks to all those who attended our show on that memorable day and to all our friends (old and new) who have followed us for so many years. We tried to materialize this whole feeling, focusing on most of the people present there during the most thrilling moments of the concert.Special thanks to our friends Folha Leaf, Marcelo Papa, Fernando Yokota, Aline Cortez, Stefano Martins e Thiago Alef for filming and photographing the event, to Fernando Lopes for the great sound quality, to Alexandre Matias for always making us feel so welcome at CCSP, to Priscylla Iglesias for her neverending support, and to Elaine Campos for her wonderful performance on ‘Agnus Dei.’ Thank you! We are truly blessed to be able to count on all of you. And on we go through the labyrinthine ways of life…”
