Stone Sour Announce First Live Album

I’ve seen Stone Sour live three times, each time several years (actually, in one case, more like a decade) apart, and honestly, they’ve only gotten better over time. Most recently, Vince and I saw them open up for Ozzy last summer, which is no small task. But they killed it.

So now seems like a fine time for the band to release a live record (I mean, I’m sure Jim Root would disagree, but oh well). Which is what they’re doing! Hello, You Bastards: Live in Reno, Stone Sour’s first official live release, will come out December 13 on Roadrunner. It was recorded in — you guessed it! — Reno, Nevada last October. The first single, “Absolute Zero,” sounds both excellent and imperfect… which is a good thing! It means the band didn’t pull a Kiss/ Alive and do touch-ups in the studio. At least I don’t think they did.
