Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross: Waves Score Available Digitally (But Only for Purchase!)

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, as if ya didn’t know) have released the score for Waves (watch the trailer), one of approximately eighty-seven new projects they’re scoring (including HBO’s Watchmen and a new Pixar movie). The twist is, at least as of now, the album is only available for digital download, and only available for purchase (buy it here). That’s correct: you can’t just stream this shit on Spotify or Apple Music or whatever like you usually can. It’s only eight bucks, which is, y’know, perfectly fucking reasonable, but still, in this day and age, it’s a fairly unusual rollout. I mean, there hasn’t even been a single — they’re literally asking fans to purchase this note unheard. You can get away with that when you have a fanatical fanbase.

A product description that was presumably written by David Draiman calls the score “TRENT AND ATTICUS ARE AT THEIR MOST ABSTRACT, DECONSTRUCTED AND BEAUTIFUL WITH THIS SUITE OF MUSIC THAT GLUES TREY EDWARD SHULTS’ EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING FILM TOGETHER.” So that could be interesting.

It’s safe to assume the score will show up on the usual streaming platforms at some point, but who knows when that will be.

So? Will you be patient and await Waves‘ arrival on Spotify, or will you shell out OMG SO MUCH MONEY and just get the goddamn thing now? Sound off in the comments section.
