Gene Simmons Puts Ice Cubes in His Breakfast Cereal
Generally speaking, when Gene Simmons is trending on Twitter you expect it to be something vile, like that time he was banned from Fox News after a sexist outburst or, worse, death; he is now 70 years old, after all.
Likewise, you’d think the most likely culprits to enjoy ice cubes in breakfast cereal would be the grim, frosty black metallers from the snowy environs of the north.
Thankfully Gene Simmons isn’t dead, and no, Abbath does not enjoy ice cubes in his breakfast cereal (at least as far as we know): that honor belongs to Simmons, who posted a photo of his bizarre habit on Twitter yesterday, setting the internet ablaze. What’s more, he posted the photo at 7:34pm PST (he lives in Los Angeles), which is a strange time to be eating breakfast.
I’ll tell you what, though: I get it! Too often milk warms up to room temperature once its surface area has been increased by pouring it into a bowl, and one might conceivably want it to remain crisp and cold. I’ll give it a try next time.
Lest you think this is a marketing ploy by Simmons to drum up support for the band’s ongoing farewell tour, Gene’s son Nick’s response would seemingly put that theory to bed (unless he’s in on it too), stating about his dad’s strange habit, “30 years. 30 years watching him do this. This is my life.”
