Ozzy Osbourne Issues Statement on Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis

0

Ozzy has issued a statement of his own via social media regarding this morning’s reveal that he is suffering from Stage 2 of Parkinson’s Disease.

Ozzy and his wife, Sharon, broke the news on the TV show Good Morning America. The couple recounted the various health battles that Ozzy has faced over the past year, which caused the cancelation of his touring plans.

In a new post to Twitter this evening, Ozzy thanked fans for their well wishes throughout the day, offering:

“Thank you all so much for your well wishes. It means the absolute world to me. All my love, Ozzy”

On his Good Morning America appearance this morning, Ozzy said of the events that lead to the diagnosis:

“I got a numbness down this arm for the surgery, my legs keep going cold. I don’t know if that’s the Parkinson’s or what, you know, but that’s the problem.”

Added Sharon:

“There’s so many different types of Parkinson’s. It’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”

It remains unclear whether Ozzy will be able to fulfill his 2020 touring commitments, which are quite extensive and have already been rescheduled (in some cases, twice). You can find those dates below. In the meantime, Ozzy’s new album, Ordinary Man, is set for release on February 21.
