Slipknot’s Jim Root Says He Had His “Mind-Blown” by the Music of Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande fans may have mixed feelings about metal…

…but at least one metal fan is unambiguous in his feelings about Ariana Grande! During a recent interview with Ireland’s Joe, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root praised the pop singer, saying:

“One of the girls at our management company was listening to some Ariana Grande, and I didn’t know that that’s what she was listening to. I was like, ‘What is that? That’s awesome! That’s got, like, a VIBE to it, you know?’ She told me what it was, and I was kind of mind-blown.”

There was a time — seems like it wasn’t so long ago — when making such comments in public would have lead to fans calling Root a poseur, burning their Slipknot records, and generally overreacting to one person’s opinion. I think we’re in a somewhat healthier place in 2020, but by all means, feel free to bitch and whine in the comments section if you want, despite the fact that Root’s enjoyment of Grande in no way, shape, or form affects your life.
