Listen to the First New Napalm Death Song in Four Years
As promised, today Napalm Death released a new 7″ / digital EP, entitled Logic Ravaged by Brute Force, on Century Media. You can stream both of the release’s two cuts — the title track, which is the band’s first new song in four years, and a cover of Sonic Youths “White Kross” — at the the bottom of this post…
…but I’m pleased to report that both cuts kick ass. The title track honestly took me a few listens to get into, mainly because of Barney Greenway’s echo chamber-esque vocals during the verses, but that probably says more about my own rage issues than it does about the song itself. As for the Sonic Youth cover, it’s uniformly excellent; they basically just took the original song and made it 10x heavier, but as someone who always wished that Sonic Youth’s music was 10x heavier, that’s just, MWAH!, exactly what I wanted. Again, probably speaks to my own rage issues than anything else.
Napalm Death are expected to drop a new full-length later this year. In the meantime, they’re touring Europe and North America from now until the spring with a variety of killer support acts, including Eyehategod and Aborted. Dates are below!
