Trivium Cancel Asian Tour Over Coronavirus Outbreak

0

Trivium have joined the growing ranks of metal bands to cancel Asian tours over concerns about the coronavirus outbreak, joining Slipknot and Lacuna Coil. A tour featuring Testament, Exodus and Death Angel also skipped a scheduled stop in Milan, Italy, another hotbed for the virus.

In a statement posted to social media, Trivium did not mention the coronavirus, known as COVID-19, by name, but did instruct fans to “stay safe.” The entire message reads as follows:

“Due to circumstances outside of our control we have been forced to postpone all of our tour dates in march in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. We also will not be making a scheduled press stop in Europe at this time. We hope to re-schedule these dates very soon. Thanks, and stay safe.”

As of Wednesday (March 4), 95,400 people worldwide had contracted the coronavirus and 3,280 had died, all but 268 of them in mainland China, according to The New York Times.

Trivium just released a new single, “Catastrophist,” from their forthcoming record, What the Dead Men Say. They are scheduled to tour North America with Megadeth, Lamb of God and In Flames all summer and fall. Dates:
