Testament Guitarist Alex Skolnick Calls Trump’s Response to the Coronavirus “Horsesh*t”

0

Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick let it be known that he planned to vote for Elizabeth Warren in the New York primary. Now that Senator Warren has dropped out of the race, though, Skolnick has announced his intention to support the incumbent, Donald Trump.

KIDDING!

In fact, Skolnick has taken to Twitter to make it know that he’s less-than-pleased by Trump’s response to the coronavirus, which has characteristically included a multitude of lies and self-congratulatory statements:

“Watching this WH press briefing – every speaker praising the President’s ‘extraordinary leadership.’ Even if that were true (which it’s obviously not), this is not how it’s done here. What country is this? Who are we? How did we get here? Is anyone buying this horsesh-t?! WtF”

When a follower replied that the staffers to which Skolnick was referring in his tweet were “just making sure his ego is soothed because his precious market numbers are in the tank ,” Skolnick responded:

“Exactly. I wasn’t a fan of George W Bush but after 9/11 – putting aside the Iraq debacle to follow – at least he was able convey a sense of reassurance during a time of emergency. And I don’t recall him – or any other President – getting praised by staff as if in a hostage video.”

Meanwhile, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton replied “Da tovarishch” — which is Russian for “Yes, comrade.” So presumably he also agrees with Skolnick’s assessment of the situation.

Elsewhere in the same thread, Skolnick also took time to shame Fox News’ Trish Regan for their claim that the coronavirus is a hoax perpetrated by Democrats as “another attempt to impeach the president.”

Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel were forced to cancel a show in Milan, Italy last month due to concerns regarding COVID-19.
