Khemmis Cover Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark,” Announce Mini-Album

“Rainbow in the Dark” is one of those songs I’ll never tire of hearing, and the new cover by doom / trad metal princes Khemmis is certainly no exception!

Like all primo cover songs, Khemmis’s version is true enough to the original that it’s recognizable, but takes enough artistic liberties to make it uniquely Khemmis, downtuned, doomier, dirtier, and with a reimagined guitar solo. Well done all around, lads!

The cover will come as part of a new mini-album, Doomed Heavy Metal, which will feature six tracks, three of them live cuts plus the Dio cover and two new-ish jams that have been previously available only in a limited capacity. It comes out on April 17.
