Behold, a Metalcore Cover of The Tiger King’s “Here Kitty Kitty”

0

It’s safe to say we’ll be experiencing a glut of Tiger King-related content in the coming days as everyone who binged the series last week has now finished putting those Joe Exotic-inspired creative juices into action. If you haven’t seen Tiger King yet, or don’t care — this is your warning!

And so: after Trivium’s Matt Heafy covered “I Saw a Tiger,” and Marilyn Manson revealed that Joe Exotic once asked him for a political endorsement, now we’ve got metalcore band Everyone Dies in Utah covering “Here Kitty Kitty,” Exotic’s paean to his arch nemesis, Carole Baskin, who he maintains murdered her ex-husband and fed him to tigers.

If I didn’t know the background, I’d just assume this was another run-of-the-mill metalcore song, with its good cop / bad cop vocals and sing-songy melodies juxtaposed with guitar chugs. At least the band presumably recorded their own parts, which is more than Exotic himself can claim.

Listen below! And brace yourselves for more Tiger King content at the top of the hour.
