Today: Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) Livestreams a Performance and Discussion

Artists from all across the musical spectrum have been joining the livestream brigade in recent weeks with quarantined fans desperate for entertainment and musicians more than willing to give it, but it seems as if heavy music has been getting the short-shrift. Perhaps it’s due to the technical complexity of putting on a proper metal performance, but there haven’t been many actual livestream shows in our world (Q&As are a different story), save for the landmark Code Orange stream which had already been planned as a regular show before the world went up in flames.

So who better than Myles Kennedy to give heavy music fans something new to watch? No, the amps won’t be plugged in and loud, but Kennedy is an incredibly versatile singer, and an enrapturing one to boot. It’s a familiar face, a familiar voice and a familiar format. So won’t you tune in? It’s not like you’ve got a hot date to go on instead.

He’s performing TONIGHT, Wednesday, April 15 at 9pm EDT / 6pm PDT, as part of American Songwriter’s “Behind the Mic” series. He will play four or five songs from throughout his catalog including Alter Bridge, Slash and the Conspirators and his solo album. Afterwards there will be some sort of “discussion,” although it’s not quite clear what the format of that will be.

Tune in live on the American Songwriter Facebook page. The video will be posted there afterwards so if you miss it live you can still check it out.
