Killswitch Engage Frontman’s Punk Band The Weapon Posts New Song

Taking advantage of his recent downtime — Killswitch Engage were supposed to be on tour with August Burns Red but then, well, you know — the band’s frontman, Jesse Leach, has stayed busy with another project, his punk band, The Weapon, who just put out a new song called “Slave State.”

The band offered of the track:

“A border and a flag are a human construct used to control and separate us
We are all
Connected as humans”

“From our quarantine to yours you fucking slaves. We love you and we’ll see you on the other side of this crazy experience. Stay safe and protect yourself.”

The group — which also includes Chris Drapeau on guitar, Josh Mihlek on bass and Andy Mass on drums — released an EP called At What Cost / Shotgun Anarchy in 2018.

Check out a live performance video of “Slave State” below, with video of each member filmed in isolation as is de rigueur these days.

Leach has been particularly productive of late, also putting out material for his ambient project, The Way Back Within, with his significant other.
