Steel Panther Rename Themselves Four Pump Chumps, are a ’90s Boy Band Now

0

Back in April, Steel Panther released a video for “Let’s Get High Tonight,” from their most recent album, Heavy Metal Rules, in which our four spandex-clad heroes reimagined themselves as different types of bands: black metal (in full corpse paint!), country, classical and more. Now the band has taken one of the shoots from that video — dressed as a late ’90s / early ’00s boy band called Four Pump Chumps — and released it as its own video, start to finish. If you ever wanted to see Michael Starr with short, neatly coiffed hair or the guys perform perfectly choreographed dance moves, this is your chance!

The video follows last week’s Concert to Save the World, a full production livestream show that saw all proceeds from the $15 tickets going towards Heavenly Pets Animal Rescue (the location that hosted the band’s recently announced All Day Kitty Cam) and Live Nation’s Crew Nation Fund (benefitting all touring personnel affected by the Covid-19 pandemic). The band says they’re looking into another livestream performance ASAP.

We recently had Michael Starr on The MetalSucks Quarantinecast to talk about how he’s been keeping busy during the quarantine, how he misses the attention of being on stage, his eternal love of Van Halen — lots of Van Halen talk! — and more.

Watch the new video below.
