One Hundred Thousand Unveil Expansive New Track, “Cancer,” from Zodiac Concept Album

0

We’ve been praising the virtues of One Hundred Thousand here on MetalSucks for years, describing them as “Like the lovechild of Sevendust and TesseracT,” and “like what happens when kids who were teenagers when Suicide Silence and Job for a Cowboy first came out grew up and discovered old Morbid Angel and Gorguts.” The band has evolved quite a bit over the years, but I’m sticking by those!

The band’s latest song, “Cancer,” finds them ratcheting down the heaviness a bit while upping the tension. This is one hell of a dynamic track that builds, grows and breathes as it goes along, as a dreamy passage filled with delay and reverb-soaked guitars and airy vocals gives way to an explosive climax with belted highs. It’s a hell of a song, and it comes from the band’s forthcoming concept record, Zodiac, which will see them release one track per month through February 2021.

You can listen to “Cancer” below, and previous singles “Gemini,” “Taurus” and “Aries” at those links.
