How Profitable is the World of Heavy Metal?

0

In 2019, a report from music distribution group TuneCore revealed that heavy metal was recognized as the fastest-growing music genre in the world. With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to discover that metal has become quite a profitable business, and has expanded the ways in which it’s marketed and sold in recent years.

Tour Tickets and Gross – Who is the Most Successful Band?

There are dozens of very popular hard rock and metal bands and solo artists that have become household names even in the mainstream, including Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Slipknot, Mötley Crüe and numerous others.

However, there’s no question that the band that’s experienced the most success is Metallica. According to Pollstar Boxoffice, thrash metal’s progenitors sold almost 22.1 million concert tickets and grossed around $1.4 billion dollars between 1982 and 2019. That jaw-dropping numbers beat out Guns N’ Roses, who has grossed almost $800 million from their Not In This Lifetime reunion tour in recent years alone, AC/DC, who have sold around 14.3 million concert tickets, and Ozzy Osbourne, who has sold roughly 10 million concert tickets up to the same period in September 2019.

Despite their high concert ticket sales and huge overall gross, Metallica still fall behind popular rock bands like U2. However, as Pollstar reports, our Bay Area heroes are seeing similar numbers to pop singers such as Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. It’s also important to note that Metallica’s achievements don’t dismiss the work of the other aforementioned metal bands in the scene, as each of them have experienced tremendous financial success since first forming.

Casinos – Metal goes Gambling

Metal’s popularity has led to success outside of music, too. In 2017, MT SecureTrade Limited Casinos launched Metal Casino, an online casino created by a team of casino experts who also happen to have a huge love of metal.

Metal Casino is known for its high payouts – also known as Return to Player – as it features a wealth of popular games, including video slots, table games, and also a live casino with real dealers. Head over to the website CasinosToPlay for an extended list of online casinos with the best payout rates.

Metal Casino accepts most payment options and processes them quickly, and the website offers a ton of promotions and bonuses for you to enjoy. There’s also a merch room where you can exchange MetCoins (The site’s loyalty points) for bonuses and free spins or exchange them for exclusive merch such as signed items, action figures, microphones used by musicians, and so much more. Although it’s just a casino, you really can feel the site’s creators’ love for metal.

Heavy Metal Music Slots

Mass interest in metal goes even further: some game developers have created dedicated heavy metal music-inspired video slots. One of the most popular is NetEnt’s Ozzy Osbourne slot which features a dark and gothic theme with symbols based on the Prince of Darkness himself. The game is packed with special features to help you make more winning combinations, and some of Ozzy’s best music plays as you spin the reels.

Other rock-themed slots include NetEnt’s Guns N’ Roses, Play’n GO’s Sabaton and Black Mamba slots, Blueprint Gaming’s Spinal Tap, WMS’ Kiss: Shout It Out Loud, and numerous others. All of these rock-themed video slots can be found at Metal Casino and several other sites.

Their unique themes, fun visuals, great music, and their plethora of special features have made them incredibly fun to play, and they’ve all been enjoyed by heavy metal fans from around the world.
