Exclusive Song + Video Premiere: “Inheritance” by Spook the Horses

Spook the Horses are a rare and fascinating sort of band. The members of the New Zealand post-metal sextet frequently rotate instruments, because every member can play every instrument. Amazing, right?

Still, the band’s musical virtuosity wouldn’t mean anything if they couldn’t write decent music. Thankfully, that’s by no means a problem for these dudes. As demonstrated by their latest single, “Inheritance,” Spook the Horses make chunky, raw, brain-melting slabs of aggression that are sure to appeal to fans of bands like Neurosis, Cult of Luna, and Old Man Gloom. You won’t be surprised that we jumped at the chance to debut this track and its trippy AF 180° visualizer (produced by Max and Felix Telfer), which you can experience in VR for maximum effect.

So do yourself a favor and blast “Inheritance” via the below music video! It’s the final track from Spook the Horses’ new album, Empty Body, which comes out August 28 on Pelagic Records. Go here to pre-order it and listen to more tracks from the album!
