Lars Ulrich’s All-Time Favorite Metallica Song is…

0

Now that we know which Metallica guitar solo Kirk Hammett is most proud of, and which Slipknot song our Lord and Savior Corey Taylor loves best of all, how about we turn to everyone’s favorite Danish expat, Lars Ulrich?

The Metallica drummer recently spoke to GQ (!) about the band’s newly released S&M2 set, and discussed a number of “firsts” in his life. When asked the first song that comes to mind as his all-time favorite, he answered:

“‘Sad But True.’ I  just love playing that song. I play it a little differently each time. I love the tempo and giving it a different interpretation every time I play it.”

“Different interpretation” is certainly the way many would describe Lars’s drumming… heyoooo!

Kidding aside, I know what he means about the groove. Kid Rock apparently thought so too, utilizing the song’s backbone for one of his biggest hits, “American Bad Ass.”

You can read the rest of the interview here.

Metallica have been working on new song ideas for their next album remotely, with James Hetfield saying he’s been writing a whole lot and Hammett revealing he has 600 song ideas to sort through. The band recently hosted a pre-recorded drive-in concert at hundreds of outdoor movie theaters and just released a recording of last year’s S&M2 concert.
