BREAKING: Corey Taylor Always Puts On Pants for Phone Interviews

0

The pandemic means many things to many different people. Loss of work, economic struggle, childcare hardships, unorthodox family living situations, endless Zoom calls, the end of personal hygiene… life has changed quite a bit since March!

But not for Sir Corey Taylor, Our Lord and Savior. Despite being stuck at home like the rest of us, Slipknot’s #8 insists on a certain level of dignity and civility: he always puts on pants before participating in interviews with journalists.

Speaking to Hampton Roads, VA radio station FM 99 WNOR, Taylor explained how he and his team have been forced to get creative with being able to tour his upcoming solo album, CFMT:

“It’s interesting, I’ll tell you that much. It’s one of those things where it makes you have to think outside the box; it’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘Well, how the hell am I going to promote this?’

“I will say this – from all my issues with the internet and cyber life and all that stuff, it has, really, I’ve been fortunate enough to have that – because if not, this would have been a totally different thing. I’ve been able to record and put out little acoustic snippets here and there, I’ve been able to do hours and hours of interviews from my bed, I mean, I will say this, I do do a courtesy, and I do pants-on for people, I wouldn’t feel right about not doing that.

“It’s got us having to think creatively about how are we gonna do this, and how we’re gonna promote it and what we’re gonna do, so, you know, we’re looking at virtual live shows, things like that, we’re looking at different ways to promote it.

“And you’d be surprised, and I hate to say it, so much creativity can come from adversity, when you’re pushed against the wall, trying to figure out what the hell you’re gonna do. That’s really when the lights come on sometimes, so I’m just really fortunate to have a great team with me who loves the music as much as I do, and they’re just trying to get my dumb face out in front of everybody.”

I gotta say, this news is a bit of a bummer. For one, the thought of a pants-less Corey Taylor in the below interview — we can’t see below his chest anyway — is quite titillating! What’s more, part of the beauty of working at home is precisely that you don’t need to wear pants! We have a strictly enforced no-pants rule at The MS Mansion, you better believe.

Check out the interview below, and dream of a no-pants Metal Jesus.

Taylor, who doesn’t even use social media anymore, will release his first solo album, CMFT, on October 2, and has put out three singles to date: “Corey Taylor Must Be Stopped,” “Black Eyes Blues” and “HWY 666.”
