F*ck the Facts Return to Save 2020 With New Song “Pleine Noirceur”

It’s been five long years since Fuck the Facts released an album (Desire Will Rot) and four years since they’ve released anything at all (a cover of Helmet’s “Role Model”). That would be a bummer in the best of times — FtF are one of the best grindcore bands in recent history — and 2020 has been anything but the best of times.

So, THANK FUCKING GOD, the band has just announced a new album, Pleine Noirceur (Full Darkness), set for release on November 20 via the band’s very own Noise Salvation label. America ought to be in the midst of its post-election full-blown civil war by then, so having some raw, angry grind with which to vent will most surely be helpful (Fuck the Facts are themselves from Ottawa, so they’ll just be laughing at us with the rest of the world).

Furthermore, the band has debuted the title track, and it strongly suggests that despite their half-a-decade absence and the loss of a couple of members (bassist Marc Bourgon and guitarist Johnny Ibay), the band hasn’t missed a beat.

Says the band in a statement:

“We took a long break before working on this album, I feel like it’s a collection of bits and pieces; old and new, short and long. It’s us working back into the groove, just in time for a pandemic. This album also could have easily been 3 EPs, you really have to listen to the whole thing in order to fully enjoy it. It opens the door for what is next.”
