The Red Opera RPG Will Be Based on Metal Band DiAmorte’s Album
In 2019, the operatic symphonic metal band DiAmorte released The Red Opera, which “tells the tale of two warring kingdoms bent on betrayal, rebellion, and revenge.”
What better topic could possibly exist for a tabletop RPG?? No better topic, I tell ya. These two things were made to go together.
So go together they will: The Red Opera RPG is a story driven 5E campaign inspired by the tale told on DiAmorte’s album which, by the way, features Black Crown Initiate vocalist James Dorton and Symphony X bassist Mike LePond. The RPG campaign is a reimagining of the original album’s story by author RickHeinz (Geek & Sundry), and is a ten-chapter affair, each reflecting one song from the album.
A Kickstarter campaign to get the game off the ground launched earlier this month and hit its goal of $10,000 in a mind-boggling 40 minutes, smashing all the way through to just over $131,500 as of press time. With only 52 hours to go, now’s your chance to get in early on this game while you still can; backers will receive a variety of different rewards depending on how much they pledge.
