Deftones Debut “Teenager” Remix by The Cure’s Robert Smith

Deftones, perhaps the only metal equally beloved by conspiracy whack jobs and the Canadian crooner Michael Bublé, have premiered another cut from Black Stallion, their forthcoming collection of White Pony remixes.

Specifically, they’ve premiered a remix of the song “Teenager” by Robert Smith from The Cure.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the remix strips away the more hip-hop influenced aspects of the song and adds some pensive piano bits. It ends up kinda sounding like Ben Folds on Valium. Again, probably what you expect from the dude from The Cure.

Deftones previously released a remix of “Knife Prty” by electronic pop band Purity Ring and a remix of “Passenger” by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.

Black Stallion will be released on December 11 as part of a double album set that will also include a special 20th anniversary edition of White Pony. The full list of remixers is as follows:

DJ Shadow
Phantogram
Robert Smith (The Cure)
Purity Ring
Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park)
Salva
Tourist
Squarepusher
Blanck Mass
Trevor Jackson
Clams Casino
