Exclusive Song + Video Debut: Scarred’s “Mirage”

It always a big deal to self-title an album, because by doing so, you’re ostensibly making a statement of intent: This is our art, distilled to its purist form, a definitive statement of who we are and what we’re about. It seems like it’s an even bigger deal, however, if it’s not the band’s debut. The band has now had some time to truly find their own creative voice, and this, they are announcing, is it.

Such is the case for Luxembourg’s Scarred, whose forthcoming eponymous release is their third full-length studio album. Not only is it their first release to feature new vocalist Yann Dalscheid, but is, by far, the clearest crystallization to date of the band’s unique form of melodic deathrash.

Take, for example, “Mirage,” the track we’re thrilled to be debuting on MetalSucks this very day: it’s fast, technical, huge, hooky, and corrosive, like a truck from Mad Max spewing flames and battery acid. If you dig bands like Machine Head, Revocation, and Sylosis, you’re gonna love Scarred.

Check out “Mirage” via the below music video, which was directed by Kim Conrardy for U-matic Productions.

Scarred will be released January 22, 2021 via Klonosphère Records. It was recorded by the band and Patrick Damiani at Tidalwave Studio, in Karlsruhe-Germany, mixed by Patrick Damiani and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering, Karlsruhe. Pre-order it here (physical) or here (digital)!
