Meshuggah Announce Fall 2021 European Tour… New Album Too?

0

Meshuggah have announced a series of headline dates in Europe and the U.K. for November and December of 2021.

On its own, that wouldn’t be huge news; obviously the fact that Meshuggah are touring is news, but plenty of bands are betting on fall 2021 as a time when touring and attending concerts will be safe. What’s particularly noteworthy is a piece of related info.

Meshuggah, you might recall, previously canceled their entire slate of summer 2021 tour dates, mostly festivals rescheduled from 2020, citing “logistical reasons” and the need for extra time to finish their next album. Announcing a tour for just a few months later tells me that the band are confident they’ll have the album completed and out into the world in time for that fall tour (or perhaps during it). The band recently said that the album is mostly written, so presumably all that’s left now is recording, mixing and mastering (no small tasks, but ones that can be defined with relative certainty on a timeline).

Tl;dr: a new Meshuggah album in late 2021 is very likely! Huzzah!

Here are those dates, which will feature Zeal & Ardor supporting:
