From the Archives: Photos of Children of Bodom’s Alexi Laiho Throughout the Years
The staff of MetalSucks is still collectively grieving the untimely death of Children of Bodom co-founder, guitarist and frontman Alexi Laiho, whose passing was revealed yesterday (he died last week).
We had the opportunity to work with Alexi both directly and indirectly a number of times over the years — including an in-person live chat we hosted in 2013 featuring questions submitted by fans in real time — so to celebrate his life and legacy we took a dive into our archives and uncovered a few live photo sets we’d like to re-post.
The first, shot by Jacqueline Cheng, took place on October 20, 2010 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City with Black Label Society and Clutch.
The second, on March 3, 2012, with Revocation supporting, was shot by Mariel Pietrykoski at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey.
Mariel again captured the band performing at the Mayhem Fest in New Jersey on July 23, 2013 for MetalSucks.
