Video: Buddhist Monk Covers Metallica + AC/DC

If you thought those dudes with bowls on their heads were gonna be responsible for this week’s most interesting cover of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” well… think again.

A Buddhist monk, currently known only as Kossan1108, has shared videos of himself covering Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” as well as the aforementioned AC/DC classic.

I repeat: there is a Buddhist monk covering Metallica and AC/DC on YouTube. This is not a joke.

Not only are they highly entertaining – and not only do they suggest that metal can, indeed, help provide a path to enlightenment — but they paved the way for this guy to leave the best Internet peanut gallery comment I’ve seen in ages:

Metallica have been working on new music, albeit, in the words of Lars Ulrich, at a “glacial” pace. Which means there’s still time for them to recruit this dude to be on the album!
