Dee Snider is Making Another Solo Album with Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta

Dee Snider’s 2018 solo album, For the Love of Metal, brought the Twisted Sister frontman firmly into metal’s present while staying true to his roots. Produced by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta and with assists from a number of notable meal musicians — including members of Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Toxic Holocaust and more — the album wasn’t so much a game-changer as it was simply fun, an escape from the metal monotony that consumes our day-to-day. And besides, who doesn’t love Dee friggin’ Snider’s voice?? Especially paired with a different kind of music than we’re used to hearing.

The dynamic duo of Snider and Jasta are teaming up once again for a follow-up to For the Love of Metal, currently working in the studio with Dee’s live band laying down tracks. The news comes from a quick update Dee himself offered on Twitter, saying:

“Well…I’m currently in the studio with my live band recording 13 (maybe 14) new original songs for my follow up to 2018’s “For the Love of Metal”. It’s produced (again) by @jameyjasta and being release this summer (?) on @NapalmRecords. Once again it will be HEAVY!!! https://t.co/JaKCIRF6jh

Snider has been staying active during the pandemic, finishing up a novel and releasing a Christmas song with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale. Dee recently joined The MetalSucks Podcast and shared a funny story about how he was so impressed by Lzzy’s live vocals the first time he saw her perform that he asked the sound engineer to hear her direct feed to make sure there weren’t any backing tracks piped in.
