Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Win Second Golden Globe

Did you watch the Golden Globes last night? I sure didn’t! But apparently they were a real shit show.

If I had watched said shit show, however, I would have seen Nine Inch Nails masterminds Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross win their second Golden Globe for Best Original Score – Motion Picture — along with Jon Batiste — for their work on Pixar’s Soul.

The duo won their first Golden Globe back in 2011, for David Fincher’s The Social Network. Funny enough, they were nominated this year against themselves for David Fincher’s Mank.

The nominees they beat out were Alexandre Desplat (for George Clooney’s The Midnight Sky), Ludwig Göransson (for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet), and James Newton Howard (for Paul Greengrass’ News of the World).

You can watch their acceptance speeches and stream the score below.

Meanwhile, the nominations for this year’s Oscars will be announced on March 15; there’s a pretty good chance Reznor and Ross will be nominated for a couple of those as well.
