Fear Factory Share New Album Artwork and Teaser

After months of teasing, Fear Factory have finally… released another teaser for their upcoming album, this one a video showing off a section of the cover artwork.

The video’s description offers that the album’s title and first single are “coming soon” and that the imagery was designed by Francesco Artusato, who metal fans might know as the guitarist of Light the Torch and ex-All Shall Perish:

“New Fear Factory Album Cover Teaser -Pre Order, Album Title, Release Date + First Video and Single Coming Soon. Image: (IWM)Industrial War Machine Model#FF103190

“(bands birthdate) October 31st 1990. Image Created by Francesco Artusato”.

The album was originally recorded in 2017 with longtime Fear Factory frontman Burton Seabell handling vocals, although he has since quit the group. Acting on his own, guitarist Dino Cazares added some finishing touches to the album in recent months with funds sourced from a Crowdfunding campaign, but Burton called the fundraising effort a “scam,” distancing himself from the effort before eventually quitting the band. Burton then issued a longer statement on his decision to leave, and Cazares put out a statement of his own that left the door open for Burton to rejoin while also calling out Burton’s “lies, the negativity and the blame.” It later came out that Cazares had previously acquired 100% of the rights to use the Fear Factory name in a years-long court battle.

Seabell at one point claimed that Fear Factory’s new album would be titled Monolith, but that has likely changed as Dino later indicated the title didn’t have his blessing.

Two of Fear Factory’s newer albums, Mechanize (2010) and The Industrialist (2012), once again became available on major streaming platforms last month after an extended absence. Two other albums, Archetype (2004) and Transgression (2005), have not yet been re-added to streaming services in North America due to disputes with the labels that released them (Liquid 8 and Calvin, respectively), although they are available in certain other parts of the world.
