The multi-instrumentalist known as Charlie Sad-Eyes (Crawl Below) is doing dadding right: he started a grindcore band, Animal Schoolbus, with his daughter, who goes by the name ‘Princess Beast.’ Princess Beast is nine now, but she and Charlie have been making a racket together for years already, according to a press release:

“Animal Schoolbus started in 2013 when Princess Beast was two, in order to vent her frustrations at 7:00 pm bedtimes, getting yelled at for climbing trees, and not being able to eat popsicles for dinner.”

So she’s been doing this for 77% of her life. No one wonder her screaming is so good.

Animal Schoolbus’ debut album, Going to Grammy’s House 2021, will be released on April 30 via Lawnmowerjetpack Records. It consists of 14 songs recorded in 2014, before Princess Beast turned three, as well as three tracks recorded in 2020, and three live cuts from the 2019 Rise and Grind Fest.

You can listen to the new single, “I Can Do One-Handed Cartwheels” (recorded last year) below, and the album’s opening track, “Favorite Flavor Green” (recorded in 2014) below that (do yourself a favor and pay special attention to the lyrics).
