Poll: Are You Excited for KK’s Priest?

0

Three years after saying he was “shocked and stunned” that Judas Priest didn’t invite him back to the band to fill in for Glenn Tipton, who is ailing from Parkinson’s Disease and has difficulty performing live — and ten years since he quit the band — K.K. Downing has finally gotten his new project off the ground, cheekily titled KK’s Priest.

Mr. Downing announced yesterday that the band’s debut album, Sermons of the Sinner, will come out later this year. Besides Downing, the band also includes two other former Judas Priest members, Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals) and Les Binks (drums). Rounding out the line-up is guitarist A.J. Mills (Hostile) and bassist Tony Newton (Voodoo Six).

A quick preview of new music accompanying yesterday’s announcement confirmed what we’ve expected: the band will sound a whole lot like Judas Priest!

So, all that said: with new KK’s Priest music all but sure to see the light of day before anything from the real deal Judas Priest, are you excited? That so-called “real deal” Judas Priest, of course, is functioning without many of its key members.

While the riffs will be decent at the very least, the answer, in essence, will come down to whether you feel Rob Halford’s voice is crucial to your enjoyment of any form of Priest-related music.

But don’t let us tell you. Vote below!
