Remember what it was like to hear Alice in Chains, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Rage Against the Machine’s “Freedom” for the first time in the early ’90s?

Regardless of your answer, I highly recommend these videos by TikToker Jacob Givens, in which he recreates those very experiences. As a wise man once said, “It’s funny because it’s true” — these vids are hilarious, accurate, and hilarious because they’re accurate.

The undeniable standout of the bunch is the RATM clip, which is centered around the song “Freedom” (sample dialogue exchange: “Wow… you DO have to rage against it.” “Totally! He sounds so ANGRY, and now I’m angry about what he’s angry about!” “I’m angry… but I’m LEARNING.”), and has received approval from none other than Tom Morello himself.

But they’re all pretty great, and the Alice in Chains/”Man in the Box” one has a conversation about dudes growing long hair that many of us surely remember having when we were adolescents.

Enjoy all four clips below; follows Givens on TikTok.

Rage Against the Machine, “Freedom”

Alice in Chains, “Man in the Box”

Nirvana, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

The Smashing Pumpkins, “Cherub Rock”
