Reaping Asmodeia Reap Asmodeia on “False Awakening”
Does anyone know what asmodeia is, and why it needs to be reaped? As much as MetalSucks has always liked this band, I’ve never actually stopped to wonder that until this morning, and Google isn’t being helpful with an answer. Then again, it’s not like Megadeth or Trivium are a real words, so whatever I guess.
ANYWAY, the Minneapolis-based tech-death trio have announced that they’re gonna release a new album, Darkened Infinity, on October 15 via Prosthetic Records. They’ve also released the searing first single from the album, “False Awakening,” a song which sounds as though it means to suck out your intestines through your ass using a plunger. I’m saying it’s intense.
Says the band of Darkened Infinity:
“It seems surreal at this point to finally be sharing our new album with all of you, but today we begin to do just that. We feel that ‘False Awakening’ is a perfect way to begin to illustrate what we have constructed with Darkened Infinity.”
Adding re: “False Awakening” and its video:
“The darkness and intensity in this song and video bears a reflection of how vile our own actions can get lost in cognitive distortion, a theme and tone present throughout the album. A false awakening is an out of body experience that happens when you wake up from a dream only to realize that you’re still sleeping, superseding with a new perception and path in consciousness that takes shape when you are able to step outside of yourself.”
