Sorry Jack, Ice Nine Kills is Back

Ice Nine Kills have released a new single, “Assault & Batteries.” The title is meant to be a pun; the song and its accompanying video are an homage to the Child’s Play franchise, which, for the six of you who don’t know, is about a doll, Chucky, possessed by the spirit of a deceased serial killer (they changed the origin for the remake a few years ago, but no one gives a shit about the remake so whatever).

I was six when the first Child’s Play movie came out, and the idea of a homicidal toy coming to life was indeed terrifying. To Ice Nine Kills’ credit, however, their video is even scarier. Chucky just wanted to kill you; these guys wanna make you listen to their music. Shudder.

You can watch the video below.

“Assault & Batteries” will appear on Ice Nine Kills’ new album, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, which comes out via Fearless on October 15…

…which coincidentally is three days after the new Chucky television series debuts on SyFy. So you’ll have something to watch when you’re not listening to this crap.
